Julia Jones. I’ve always loved being outdoors and moving my body. In my teen years I went backpacking for weeks on end through the Sierra Nevada and used my bike as if it were a car to transport me from home to school and the Californian beaches. I started working in the running world a little over twenty years ago and then started writing my running column for the Italian magazine Correre in 1995. That’s over 200 articles! In 1999 I invented Il Corso di Corsa®. This allowed me to reach over 25,000 women in fifty-two Italian cities that started running with my method. My bestseller “Correre al femminile” (Women’s Running, written in Italian) was published in 2009, and helped increase the women’s running population. JJ Running Festival is the cherry on top of everything I do! With this event I hope to one day see the number of women that run in Italy equal to the number of men.
I’ve run 33 marathons and in 2011 and 2012 came in second in my age group at the triathlon 70.3 in Pescara. I am encouraged to keep active by my husband, my two children, and the many friends that run with me. I write regularly in english at my other website Up & Running along with my business partner Shauna Reid. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
